RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's basketball dropped a 91-68 River States Conference (RSC) match-up at No. 14 University of Rio Grande Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears hold a record of 9-3, 3-1 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 9-1, 3-0 (RSC).
Tech finished 24-for-64 (37.5 percent) from the floor while grabbing 38 rebounds and forcing 19 Rio turnovers. The RedStorm shot 32-for-79 (40.5 percent), pulled down 56 boards and forced 26 Golden Bear turnovers.
Sophomore
Ca'Vashia Johnson was 8-for-10 from the foul line towards a team-high 15 points to go with four rebounds and four assists.
Freshman
Alva Hedrich recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while blocking three Rio attempts.
Senior
Alyssa Taylor and junior
Faith N. Silva both posted eight points. Taylor also had six rebounds and three steals while Silva had a steal and a rebound.
The Gold and Blue will next take on NCAA DI Youngstown State University Tuesday, December 6 at 7 p.m.
