BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech wrestling finished out its regular season celebrating seniors Judson McCray and Steven Slack II Friday evening in Van Meter Gym. The Golden Bears hosted and fell to Liberty University (39-16) and Southern Virginia University (30-24).

Slack (133 lbs.) earned a fall (1:07) over Southern Virginia's Harper Thompson and a major decision (14-2) against Jalen Fyffe of Liberty.

Ryan Turney (165 lbs.) also finished 2-0 Friday, taking down James Wiggins of SVU (3:55) and Liberty's Thomas Waddy (2:42).

McCray picked up a 10-8 overtime decision in his bout at 141 lbs. versus Sawyer Ferry (SVU).

Isaiha Casto (174 lbs.) pinned Tyson Hoopes of Southern Virginia at 2:24. 

At 184 lbs., Jacob Thomas posted a 6-5 decision over Scott Chambers (SVU).

The Golden Bears now prepare for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship scheduled for February 19 in Waleska, Georgia.
