BECKLEY, West Virginia -- No. 1 East WVU Tech earned a 77-59 victory over Indiana University Southeast in a quarterfinal of the River States Conference (RSC) Championship Wednesday. The Golden Bears will next host No. 2 West Alice Lloyd Saturday at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center with a tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
Philip Mullins came off the bench to pull down a career- and game-high 11 rebounds for the Gold and Blue. He also dished three assists.
Juvante' Hayes led the offense with 22 points while
Keondre' King was right behind him, pouring in 20 points for Tech. Hayes had five assists and four boards while King finished with four assists and four rebounds.
Thomas Hailey (12 pts.) and
Andrew Work (11 pts.) posted double-digits in the win to go with eight rebounds, six assists (Hailey) and four rebounds, three assists (Work).
Ashton Parker was just short of a double-double, marking nine points and nine boards.
