BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball hosted Point University at Fitzpatrick Park Friday afternoon, falling in game one 8-9 before taking the final contest with a score of 5-3. The Golden Bears move to 9-3 this season while the Skyhawks hold a record of 15-7.
Jacey Bertalan,
Kelsey Huffman and
Mackenzie Siersma tallied four hits each over two games. Siersma finished with two doubles, a home run and two RBI while Bertalan had a double and two RBI and Huffman drove in one run.
Macy Wilkens finished with three hits towards four RBI and two doubles.
Nicole Kester,
Courtney Miles and
Gabrielle Pyles also had a multi-hit series, tallying two each. Kester knocked a homer for the Gold and Blue while Pyles scored three runs and Miles scored one.
Miles pitched a complete game for the W in the circle in game two, throwing to 12 strike outs.
Taylor Dickerson struck out three batters in 2.2 innings, getting dealt the loss in game one.
The Golden Bears will now get ready for The Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida March 12-16 where they are scheduled to play ten games.
