BLUEFIELD, Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball earned a 15-2 non-conference win at Bluefield University Wednesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-33 while the Rams move to 23-14.
Cameron Asbury earned the W on the bump after 5.0 innings of work, one strike out and just two earned runs.
Jonathan Toro Mesa finished out the game, throwing for 2.0 innings, striking out one batter and giving up just one hit.
Francesco Calderon and
Hunter Fansler recorded three hits each for the Gold and Blue. Calderon finished with two doubles, four runs scored and a RBI while Fansler had a RBI and two runs scored.
Ryan Miller drove in four runs off of two hits including a home run.
Spencer Kenney posted three RBI and one hit while
Michael Aponte Rivera posted a double and two RBI.
Stolen bases were credited to
Jared Sermersheim and
Justin Pettifer.
Tech will next travel to Wilmore, Kentucky to face Mississippi University of Women and host Asbury University Friday and Saturday.
