PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech softball earned the 1-0 shutout over River States Conference (RSC) opponent Carlow University before falling 3-4 Wednesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 22-21, 7-11 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 5-26-1, 2-15 (RSC).Â
Emma Crisswell pitched a no-hitter after 7.0 innings of work and striking out 13 batters in game one for the Gold and Blue.
Courtney Miles threw from the circle for 5.0 innings in game two, retiring five Celtics via strikes.
Gabrielle Pyles led at the plate after two games with four hits towards a RBI.
Kay'Lee Justice and Miles finished with three hits each while Justice posted a RBI and a double.
Brianna Stevenson also had a multi-hit series, posting two while
Kyleigh Jackson had a RBI.
The Golden Bears continue conference play when they travel to Midway University for two games Friday.
