CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer blanked Ohio Christian University 6-0 Thursday to open River States Conference (RSC) play. The Golden Bears boast a record of 6-1-2, 1-0 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 0-6, 0-1 (RSC).
Tech had six different goal scorers including a quick one, unassisted, with just six minutes off the clock from sophomore
Omar Belahna.
The second one came from fellow sophomore
Luciano Valentin Castro who found the back of the net off the perfect pass from freshman
Arnau Rabassa (18').
Freshman
Julian Diaz struck next, posting Tech's third goal in minute 35 off an assist from freshman
Daniel Barker.
The final goal of the first 45 was recorded by sophomore
Layomi Ogunfowora, unassisted, with just one minute left until hafltime.
The Gold and Blue's final two goals came from freshmen
Emanuele Bossi (56') and
Christian Piewe (70'). They both picked up those scores unassisted.
Freshman
Luka Felix started in goal and garnered the W after 45 minutes of action, zero goals allowed and five stops. Fellow classmate
Federico Balestra finished out the game, allowing zero goals.
The Gold and Blue will move back into non-conference action for a contest Saturday when they host University of Maine at Fort Kent for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
