BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech women's soccer dropped a 3-0 decision on the road at Shawnee State University before falling 5-2 to Point Park University Saturday both in River States Conference (RSC) play. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 3-11-1, 2-6 (RSC).
The Gold and Blue's goals were recorded by sophomore
Stheisy Lemus (Bilbao, Spain) and freshman
Carson Barr (New Manchester, W.Va.). Lemus posted her goal off a penalty kick in the 21st minute against the Pioneers. Barr's score came unassisted in the final minute of the match-up against Point Park.
Sophomore
Sandra Garcia Quilez (Zaragoza, Spain) was Tech's net minder for 135 minutes over two games, making nine saves and allowing six goals. Freshman
Sascha Pacheco (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) protected the net for 45 minutes and posted eight stops and allowed two goals.
The Golden Bears will celebrate seniors and host Ohio Christian University Thursday, October 26 at Paul Cline Stadium for a 4:30 scheduled kickoff.
