RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech volleyball fell to Point Park University 3-1 Friday before dropping a 3-0 decision at University of Rio Grande to finish out the 2023 regular season. The Golden Bears will enter the River States Conference Championship with an overall record of 15-16.
Freshman
Marianna Oyola Rivera (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and senior
Julia McClanahan (Charleston, W.Va.) set a 5-2 towards 30 and 29 assists respectively over two matches. McClanahan picked up 13 digs while Oyola River had seven digs and seven kills.
Senior
Ana Muniz Rocandio (Oviedo, Asturias, Spain) and junior
Brooke Presley (Shady Spring, W.Va.) recorded 26 digs each while sophomore
Yukari Furuichi Blanchard (Kearneysville, W.Va.) had 16 digs.
Senior
Madison Boswell put down 20 kills while Muniz Rocandio posted 17 to help lead the attack. Sophomores
Emily Stack (Beckley, W.Va.) and
Giulia Colombo (Castelvetro di Modena, Italy) added nine kills each this weekend.
Stack also finished with six total blocks while sophomore
Nevaeh Wooding (White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.) had five over both matches for the Gold and Blue.
