Golden Bears secure victory at Ness Bros. Hall of Fame Classic

Men's Basketball

HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- WVU Tech men's basketball finished undefeated, 2-0, in the Ness Bros. Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Huntington University after defeating the host school 92-89 Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears took down Harris-Stowe State University 88-51 just the night before to open the season.

Senior Andrew Work (Oak Hill, W.Va.) recorded a game-best 23 points to go with six rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks.

From three-point range sophomore Brant Smithers (Williamstown, Ky.) finished 7-for-11 towards 21 points. Smithers also had three steals and two blocks.

Freshman Braden Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) nailed four three's and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line towards 20 points to go with five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore Thomas Hailey (Monroe, N.C.) finished with ten points while senior Ashton Parker (Rock Hill, S.C.) had nine points for the Gold and Blue. Hailey also had three assists and two rebounds while Parker had three blocks, two rebounds and two assists.

The Golden Bears will next travel to NCAA DI Eastern Kentucky University for an exhibition match-up Tuesday, November 7. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and you can catch the game on ESPN+.
