PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- WVU Tech wrestling opened its dual season at Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent University of Pikeville with a 24-9 victory Friday evening. The Golden Bears had four grapplers record falls in the dub.
At 157 lbs., sophomore
Zach Mullins (Alderson, W.Va.) produced a fall over Brandon Ruiz at 0:50.
Another six points were awarded to WVU Tech off a fall from junior
Ryan Turney (Churchville, Md.) against Chase Price at 3:51.
Freshman John Parks (Charmco, W.Va.) scored a fall (2:06) at 197 lbs. over Tristan Turner.
Junior
Jeffrey Bowles (Lester, W.Va.) had a fall at 285 lbs. against Gavin Hunt after 3:41.
The Gold and Blue will return to action Saturday, December 16 when they travel to Gatlinburg, Tenn. for the Smoky Mountain Duals.
