PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech men's basketball never trailed as it ran past Carlow University 76-47 Saturday afternoon in River States Conference (RSC) play. The Golden Bears boost their record to 12-12, 7-7 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 1-24, 0-14 (RSC).
Four Golden Bears hit double-digits including a double-double from
Darrin Martin who posted 12 points and 11 boards to go with three assists.
Brant Smithers hit four from beyond the arc for a game-high 14 points. Smithers also had three rebounds, a steal and an assist.
Keondre' King finished with 13 points while
Ashton Parker poured in 10 points. King had two rebounds, three assists and a block while Parker had eight rebounds, four assists, one block and a steal.
Andrew Work and
Luke Vass both posted nine points while Work had seven rebounds, two assists and two steals and Vass had three boards.
The Golden Bears finished with 50 rebounds including eight from
Saliou Diop who also blocked six Celtic attempts.
WVU Tech will next host rival University of Rio Grande during Homecoming on Saturday, February 11. Admission will be free for all fans beginning at 1 p.m. (women's tip), men follow at 3 p.m.
