SOUTH CHARLESTON, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball fell to Point Park University 1-4 before taking game two of the River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader 7-1 Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears are 16-18, 6-10 (RSC) in 2023 while the Pioneers move to 13-13, 10-8 (RSC).
Courtney Miles pitched a total of 8.0 innings over two games including a complete-game W in the circle in game two. Miles struck out ten while giving up just one earned run and five hits.
Emma Crisswell struck out six batters in 2.2 innings of work while
Mackenzie Siersma retired one via strikes in 2.0 innings.
Gracey Dearmon drew the start in game one, throwing for 1.1 innings towards the loss.
Kyleigh Jackson recorded a team-high four hits to go with a RBI over two games.
Scarlet Janney plated three runs on three hits including a triple in game two.
Tori Wells also knocked a triple towards three hits, a RBI and two runs scored.
Nicole Kester also had a multi-hit day, posting two to go with a triple, RBI and a run scored.
Macy Wilkens and
Maggie Richards both finished with a RBI for the Gold and Blue. Wilkens knocked a double during the doubleheader.
The Golden Bears conclude the three-day, six-game RSC stand when they travel to Pippas Passes, Kentucky to face Alice Lloyd College tomorrow, Saturday for a doubleheader.
