OWENSBORO, Ky. -- WVU Tech women's soccer earned its second River States Conference (RSC) victory this season with a 2-1 W at Brescia University Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 3-7-1, 2-2 (RSC) while the Bearcats move to 2-6, 1-2 (RSC).
Tech's net was protected by freshman
Sascha Pacheco (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) for 90 minutes. Pacheco made seven stops and allowed just one goal for the win.
Fellow freshman
Carson Barr recorded both goals for the Gold and Blue, marking the first one in minute 53 off an assist from freshman
Ares Canut (Altron, Catalunya, Spain). Barr's second score was in the 60th minute and the assist came from freshman
Korinne Potter (Woodbridge, Va.).
Brescia's keepers, Kya Seibert and Ashby Greenwell, recorded seven saves total.
The Golden Bears finished with nine shots on goal compared to the Bearcat's eight. Brescia held the edge on corner kicks, 7-2.
WVU Tech will continue road play when they travel to Indiana University East Saturday, October 7 for more conference action.
