Beckley, W.Va. - At the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center Saturday, (RV) WVU Tech (15-4, 8-2 RSC) men's basketball won its third consecutive and tenth of last 11 match-ups after defeating River States Conference (RSC) opponent Indiana University Southeast (8-11, 4-7 RSC) 90-75.
Both teams were efficient from the floor where the Golden Bears held the edge, shooting 59.6 percent (34-for-57) compared to the Grenadiers' 51.7 percent (31-for-60) effort. Tech grabbed nine steals and garnered 18 points off turnovers while giving up the ball just seven times as a team.
Sophomore
Thomas Hailey (information systems) led the game in both points and rebounds with 25 and nine over 32 minutes of play. Hailey also had five assists and two steals.
Four other Golden Bears hit double-digits including sophomore
Brant Smithers (sports management) 18, senior
Ashton Parker (construction management) 17, freshman
Braden Chapman (business management) 16 and off the bench freshman
Cameron Danser (business management) 11.
Parker pulled down eight of Tech's 30 boards to go with six assists while Smithers had four rebounds and three assists and B. Chapman recorded six assists and three rebounds.
The Golden Bears will next travel to Shawnee State University Tuesday for more conference play in Ohio.
