Golden Bears hold on for conference win over Trailblazers

BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech men's basketball triumphed over Ohio Christian University in a River States Conference (RSC) basketball match-up on Tuesday, held at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. With this victory, the Golden Bears improve their record to 17-6, 10-4 (RSC) while the Trailblazers now stand at 12-13, 7-7 (RSC).

Senior Andrew Work (Oak Hill, W.Va.) led the Golden Bears' offense, scoring 14 points, securing five rebounds and contributing three assists.

Freshman Braden Chapman (Beaver, W.Va.) also had a strong showing, notching 14 points, five rebounds and four assists while adding two steals to his stat line.

Senior Ashton Parker (Rock Hill, S.C.) made his presence felt on both ends of the court, contributing 11 points, five rebounds, three blocks and an assist.

Sophomore Thomas Hailey (Monroe, N.C.) was a force on the boards, grabbing eight rebounds to go along with his seven points and two assists.

Freshman Liam Craven (Brantford, Ontario, Canada) chipped in with eight points, rounding out the Golden Bears' top scorers.

WVU Tech will now embark on a road trip to face conference rival University of Rio Grande on Saturday. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m., and the Golden Bears will look to continue their winning ways and solidify their position in the conference standings.
