BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech softball split a River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader with Alice Lloyd College Monday, taking game one 5-3 before falling 0-10 (5 innings) in the finale. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-14, 5-7 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 13-15, 2-10 (RSC).
Junior
Macy Wilkens (Greenville, Ind.) hit two bombs and a sacrifice bunt towards four RBI and two runs scored for the Gold and Blue in game one, finishing a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Senior
McKayla Bartley (Parhump, Nev.) also rocked a long ball for the RBI and run scored in the W.
Senior
Kyleigh Jackson (Hico, W.Va.) and freshman
Sydney Sheets (Danese, W.Va.) had a hit each while Jackson also crossed the plate once and senior
Makenzie Holley (Sophia, W.Va.), Sheets' pinch runner, scored a run.
In the circle sophomore
Meghan Gill (Victor, W.Va.) drew the start, striking out one in 4.0 innings. The W on the rubber was awarded to freshman
Kaylie Lawrence (Greenup, Ky.) who put in 3.0 innings of work towards zero runs.

Taylor Dickerson (Mt. Lookout, W.Va.) recorded 5 Ks in 5.0 innings during game two, giving up two earned runs and scattering nine hits.
At the plate, sophomore
Olivia Barnett (Shady Spring, W.Va.) produced a double while sophomoresÂ
Hailea Skeens (Peytona, W.Va.) and
Tori Wells (Dunbar, W.Va) and Sheets added a hit each.
The Golden Bears will continue conference play when they host Midway University this Friday beginning at 2 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Park.
