PIPPAS PASSES, Ky. -- WVU Tech softball finished its 2024 campaign after a four-game road stand Friday and Saturday where they picked up two wins including a 12-9 victory to conclude the season. The Golden Bears split a series at Shawnee State University with scores of 1-8 and 7-4 before a 0-4 and 12-9 (8 Innings) showing at Alice Lloyd on Saturday.

At Shawnee State

• The team totaled eight RBI including two each from senior Scarlet Janney (Pearisburg, Va.) and junior Macy Wilkens (Greenville, Ind.).
• Freshman Kaylie Lawrence (Greenup, Ky.) led the series with a total of three hits towards a RBI.
• Senior Maggie Richards (Parkersburg, W.Va.), sophomore Hailea Skeens (Peytona, W.Va.), freshman Abby Gates (West Columbia, S.C.) and Wilkens tallied two hits each.
• Wilkens knocked a home run, senior Kyleigh Jackson (Hico, W.Va.) had a triple and Richards, Gates and senior Makenzie Holley (Sophia, W.Va.) posted a double apiece.
• Senior Taylor Dickerson (Mt. Lookout, W.Va.) earned the W in the circle, pitching a complete game towards six strike outs.
• Lawrence struck out two in 2.0 innings while freshman Trista Marcum (Williamson, W.Va.) gave up zero hits and zero runs in 1.0 innings of work.

At Alice Lloyd

• Richards and sophomore Olivia Barnett (Shady Spring, W.Va.) recorded four hits each including two doubles from Richards and a long ball and double from Barnett.
• Janney and Richards had two doubles each towards two RBI and a RBI respectively.
• Wilkens finished with a homer, double, two runs scored and a RBI.
• Lawrence posted two hits including a triple towards a RBI and two runs scored while earning the W in the circle after 1.0 innings.
• Skeens knocked a double and had two RBI.
• Dickerson drove in the final run of the game and threw 7.0 innings towards nine strike outs.
• Sophomore Meghan Gill (Victor, W.Va.) retired one via strikes in 3.0 innings of work.
