Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 6–12, 2025, were announced Monday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Earning the spotlight this week are freshman Neda Vaicaite (women’s swimming) and sophomore Sophie Quinlan (women’s soccer).

Vaicaite, from Šilainiai, Lithuania, delivered a standout collegiate debut at Midway, collecting two podium finishes and a personal best in the 50 free (26.66). She placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:05.43) and third in the 500 free (5:57.52), immediately establishing herself as a key contributor for the Golden Bears.

Quinlan, a sophomore defender from Canada, anchored a back line that helped keep WVU Tech unbeaten in River States Conference play with a win at Brescia and a road draw at Oakland City. A consistent defensive presence, Quinlan not only helped limit opposing chances but also pushed forward in the attack, giving the Golden Bears an edge and creating opportunities on goal.
