WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — WVU Tech wrestling launched its 2025–26 season Saturday with an encouraging day at the Pepsi Patriot Open in Kentucky. The Golden Bears battled through a deep early-season field, collecting wins across multiple weight classes and setting a strong tone for the months ahead.
Sophomore Troy Harris led the way, claiming first place at 141 pounds after a flawless 5-0 run that featured three pins, a major decision and a fall in the title bout. It marked the first individual championship of the new campaign for the Gold and Blue.
