WVU Tech (6–28, 5–11 RSC) enters postseason play as the No. 8 seed following a challenging conference schedule that featured several tight sets down the stretch. The Golden Bears closed the regular season on November 8 at Rio Grande and will now face a rematch against top-seeded IU Kokomo.

Tech struck first with a strong opening set before Kokomo's depth and efficiency at the net turned the match.

Tactical Keys
- Serve–pass execution.
Kokomo ranks among the RSC leaders in aces, while Tech's defense—led by Smith and Blanchard—will need to handle first contact cleanly to establish its offense.
- Efficiency at the net.
The Cougars hit .250 as a team with multiple front-row threats. For Tech, converting transition swings and limiting errors will be crucial to extending rallies.
- Composure in long rallies.
Both teams defend at a high rate, but Kokomo's ability to terminate points early often dictates momentum. Tech will look to stretch rallies and create scoring through its middle combination of Wooding and Lattu.
