WVU Tech is celebrating a standout season in the classroom as 37 Golden Bears earned recognition as Fall 2025 Scholar-Athletes, including 32 NAIA Scholar-Athletes across five varsity sports and five additional esports student-athletes honored by the department for their academic excellence.
The NAIA released its official list of 6,486 Fall Scholar-Athletes on November 19, recognizing student-athletes who excel academically in men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball and football. To qualify, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport and complete a full year at their institution.
WVU Tech's NAIA Fall 2025 list reflects excellence throughout the department, highlighted by strong representation from men's soccer (11 honorees), women's soccer (11), volleyball (6) and cross country (4).
Although esports is not governed by the NAIA, WVU Tech Athletics proudly included its top academic performers, five esports student-athletes with GPAs of 3.5 or higher, as part of this celebration. Their commitment in the classroom mirrors the academic standards upheld across Golden Bear Athletics.
