WVU Tech Places Six on CSC Academic All-District Teams

Women's and Men's Soccer

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Six WVU Tech student-athletes have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and excellence in competition across women's and men's soccer.

Representing women's soccer, Sandra Garcia Quílez, Oda Aksnes, Julia Silva and Rylee Yeloushan earned spots on the NAIA Academic All-District list. The quartet has been central to the Golden Bears' success on the pitch while upholding impressive academic credentials in the classroom.

On the men's side, Luka Felix and Marcos Garcia Aldama were honored for WVU Tech following another standout fall for the program. Both student-athletes met the College Sports Communicators' high standards for selection, which include significant academic achievement, competitive success and nomination by institutional representatives.

To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA, be sophomores or older academically, appear on their team's official eligibility certificate and play a significant competitive role in at least 50 percent of the team's contests (with goalkeepers eligible at 33 percent).

The Academic All-District program, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and academics. Honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with Academic All-America teams to be announced later this academic year.

WVU Tech congratulates all six Golden Bears for continuing to elevate the university's tradition of excellence both in the classroom and in competition.
