BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech women's soccer begins its postseason push Wednesday evening, hosting Brescia University in a River States Conference Championship quarterfinal at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Complex. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The Golden Bears (11-4-3, 7-2-1 RSC) earned the No. 3 seed after finishing tied with IU East but claiming the head-to-head tiebreaker following a 1-0 win over the Red Wolves on Oct. 23. Tech enters the postseason on a three-match win streak and has allowed just one goal across its last four outings.

Brescia (10-7, 6-4 RSC), the No. 6 seed, brings a balanced attack led by junior midfielder Allana Colen Porto and sophomore goalkeeper Laura Thompson, who has logged more than 1,400 minutes in net. The Bearcats average nearly two goals per game and remain a steady threat across all phases.

Tech's offense is paced by sophomore Julia Silva, the reigning RSC Offensive Player of the Week, who leads the team with nine goals. Martina Latapi Gomez has tallied seven assists to lead the Golden Bears' setup play, while senior goalkeeper Sandra Garcia Quílez has anchored the defense with six shutouts and a 1.00 goals-against average.

The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal at No. 2-seed IU Kokomo.
