Men's Soccer

BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Top-seeded WVU Tech men's soccer punched its ticket to the River States Conference championship match with a commanding 4–0 semifinal win over Midway on Saturday evening at Paul Cline Stadium.

The Golden Bears (15-0-2) extended their unbeaten streak to 17 matches while earning their tenth shutout of the season. Senior Keishon Clarke led the attack with a first-half hat trick, and junior Vasco Berardo added a goal as Tech overwhelmed the Eagles in the opening 45 minutes.

Golden Bear Highlights

⚽ Clarke's Hat Trick (12', 42', 44')
Clarke opened the scoring in the 12th minute, then struck twice more late in the first half — finishing a pass from Gonzalo Sabeh before converting a penalty kick to complete his hat trick.

⚽ Berardo Adds One (42')
Just 25 seconds after Clarke's second goal, Berardo made it 3-0, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to put the match firmly in Tech's control.

🎯 Offensive Pressure
The Golden Bears recorded 23 shots (16 on goal) and eight corner kicks, forcing Midway keeper Landon Sorrell into 10 saves.

🧤 Defensive Strength
Senior goalkeeper Luka Felix stopped the lone Midway shot on target before giving way to Ramon Ferrari at halftime, combining for the team's tenth clean sheet. The Tech back line — anchored by Nicholas Ihnat, Julian Diaz, and Marcos Garcia Aldama — limited Midway to just two total shots all night.
