Golden Bears Dominate in 113–21 Win at Van Meter Gym

Men's Basketball

BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech men's basketball delivered a dominant home performance Saturday afternoon, defeating Appalachian Bible 113–21 inside Van Meter Gym.

The Golden Bears (3–6) controlled the game from start to finish, shooting 55.1 percent in the first half while holding the Warriors to nine points on 13 percent shooting. Tech entered halftime with a 69–9 advantage and maintained its pace in the second half, adding 44 more points while shooting 50 percent from the field.

WVU Tech finished 45-for-85 from the floor and 15-for-40 from three, posting advantages in nearly every category. The Golden Bears forced 37 turnovers, converting them into 62 points, and tallied 67 bench points. Tech also outrebounded Appalachian Bible 53–29 and assisted on 35 of its 45 made field goals.

Golden Bear Highlights

  • Brandon Moore led WVU Tech with 15 points, three rebounds and two steals in 17 minutes, shooting 7-of-13 from the floor.
  • Ian Goings added 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
  • Roman Kellum contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
  • Graham Orndoff provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 12 points on four made threes, including three in the final two minutes.
  • Benton Wofford II added 11 points, and Trayten Woods finished with nine.
  • Cole Chapman continued his steady play with six points and seven assists, while Roee Dinnar added four points, eight rebounds and four assists.
  • In total, 14 Golden Bears scored.

Tech's defensive effort was equally strong, totaling 26 steals, led by Liam Craven (5), Chapman (3), Kellum (3) and Moore (2).

Appalachian Bible

The Warriors were led by Bryson Scarborough's eight points, including a pair of second-half threes. Appalachian Bible shot 6-for-46 from the field and 3-for-26 from long range.
