Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for April 21-27, 2025 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Senior Jordan Thurmond (baseball) and sophomore Owen Keeney (men's track & field) highlight the week's honors.
Thurmond, who hails from Rock Hill, S.C., drove in five runs on five hits against No. 10 Indiana University Southeast. The senior knocked a homerun and a double and committed zero errors in the field.
Keeney, an Oceana, W.Va. native, jumped to a podium showing during the River States Conference Championship. The sophomore recorded a 1.90m mark in the high jump for third place.
