Golden Bears show growth in second weekend of action

Volleyball

FORT WAYNE, Indiana -- WVU Tech volleyball continued its early-season journey with four matches at the Onset Invitational, highlighted by strong performances at the net from Nevaeh Wooding and Aniston Treadway. The Golden Bears also showed balance across the roster, with contributions in setting, defense and serving throughout the weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up

  • WVU Tech battled through four matches, facing Rochester Christian (0-3), Cumberlands (0-3), Lawrence Tech (1-3) and Marian (0-3).
  • Offensive leaders:
    • Nevaeh Wooding was a force in the middle, posting 26 kills (.193 hitting) and a team-high 10 total blocks.
    • Aniston Treadway impressed as a freshman with 25 kills (1.92 per set).
    • Addison White added 16 kills, 28 assists and 19 digs in a versatile all-around effort.
  • Big efficiency: Emerson Young sparked the attack in limited action with 5 kills in 2 sets (2.50/set).
  • Setting the tone:
    • Hailey Ervin (33 assists, 26 digs) provided steady play as a freshman.
    • Anaís González (26 assists, 3 kills, .600 hitting) added efficiency off the bench.
  • Back-row leaders:
  • Tech served tough again, with 16 aces across the weekend.
  • The Golden Bears averaged 13.4 digs per set, showing continued defensive energy.
