The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for March 16–22, 2026. This week’s honors go to sophomore Joshua Tibbits (baseball) and senior Hailea Skeens (softball) following standout performances in conference play.

Joshua Tibbits (Barrie, Ontario, Canada)
Tibbits provided the Golden Bears with a major offensive lift during the week, delivering team-leading power production. The sophomore first baseman launched two home runs, drove in four runs and scored three times, while also drawing six walks to post a .500 on-base percentage. He added an .800 slugging percentage and accounted for a large share of WVU Tech’s extra-base production, giving the Golden Bears a consistent presence in the middle of the lineup.

Hailea Skeens (Peytona, W.Va.)
Skeens led WVU Tech offensively during a four-game conference stretch, batting .455 (5-for-11) with a team-high three runs scored. The senior shortstop added a double, drove in two runs and posted a .500 on-base percentage and .545 slugging percentage for the week. In a challenging stretch for the Golden Bears, Skeens consistently reached base and provided a steady offensive spark across the lineup.
