Agee highlights breakout season at NAIA Nationals

Men's Indoor Track & Field

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman hurdler Isaac Agee represented WVU Tech on the national stage, competing in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.

Agee finished 17th overall with a time of 8.25 in a competitive national field. The event advanced the top two finishers from each heat plus the next two fastest times to the final.

The appearance capped a standout freshman indoor season for the Hines, West Virginia native, who emerged as one of the most decorated performers for the Golden Bears throughout the winter campaign.

Agee entered the national meet with a season-best and school-record time of 8.28 in the 60-meter hurdles, set earlier this season at the Joe LaRocco Invitational, where he won the collegiate final and ranked among the NAIA's top hurdlers at the time of the meet. He also recorded a school-record 7.22 in the 60-meter dash during that same meet and added a third-place finish in the long jump (6.74m / 22-1.5).

At the River States Conference Indoor Championship, Agee continued his strong season with a runner-up finish in the 55-meter hurdles (7.67) and helped WVU Tech score points in multiple events, including the long jump (4th place) and 4x400 relay (7th place).

Throughout the indoor campaign, Agee established himself as one of the most versatile athletes on the Golden Bear roster, competing in sprints, hurdles, long jump and relay events while setting several program records.

His season bests included:

  • 55 meters: 6.76
  • 60 meters: 7.22 (school record)
  • 55-meter hurdles: 7.59 (school record)
  • 60-meter hurdles: 8.28 (school record)
  • Long jump: 6.87m (22-6.5)

Agee's performances also earned significant recognition during the season. He was named River States Conference Track Athlete of the Week following the Joe LaRocco Invitational and received WVU Tech Golden Bear Athlete of the Week honors three times during the winter.

The freshman's record-breaking performances helped WVU Tech produce one of its most successful indoor seasons in recent program history, highlighted by 16 new school records set across the men's and women's teams.

Agee's national championship appearance closes a memorable first collegiate season and positions the Golden Bear standout as a key contributor for WVU Tech track and field moving forward.
