DANIELS, W.Va. — WVU Tech golf closed its 2025-26 season Tuesday with a fifth-place finish at the River States Conference Championship at The Resort at Glade Springs. The Golden Bears posted a three-round total of 947 (314-326-307, +83) on the par-72 Cobb Course.

Sophomore Sean Cooper of Jumping Branch, West Virginia, led the Golden Bears with a third-place finish, carding a 225 (73-80-72, +9). Cooper closed the championship with an even-par 72 in the final round, matching the second-best round of the day.

Sophomore Alvaro Iglesias Pascual of Castellon, Spain, tied for 14th with a 234 (78-79-77, +18). Freshman Parker Vannoy of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, tied for 28th with a 242 (82-86-74, +26), highlighted by a 2-over 74 in the final round.

Sophomore Roberto Peiró Llobell of Gandia, Spain, competed in the first two rounds and posted a 167 (81-86), while freshman Alejandro Gutierrez of Anaco, Anzoátegui, Venezuela, competed in rounds one and three, finishing with a 171 (87-84). Freshman Gavin Gregory of Shady Spring, West Virginia, entered the lineup in rounds two and three and carded a 166 (81-85).

WVU Tech finished tied for sixth in the field with 122 pars and tied for seventh with 24 birdies. The Golden Bears also recorded one eagle and ranked fifth in par-4 scoring at 4.49.
