SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. — WVU Tech volleyball put together its strongest stretch in a tightly contested second set Saturday before Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College earned a 3-0 decision at the Knoerle Center and improved to 22-0.
The Golden Bears (0-14, 0-2) fell 25-13, 25-17, 25-17. Tech's closest stretch came in the second set, which featured 10 ties and five lead changes before Saint Mary-of-the-Woods took the frame.
Aniston Treadway led the Golden Bear attack with nine kills on 23 swings while committing just three errors for a .261 hitting percentage. She also added six digs and finished with a team-high nine points.
Addison White directed the offense with 18 assists while adding three kills and six digs. Ivana Burgos anchored the back row with a match-high 17 digs.
Eden Miller contributed three kills and a block assist, while Ashlinn Sullivan added two kills and a block assist. Lucia Orcajo also finished with two kills and a block assist in two sets.
Gabriela Lattu recorded a solo block and a block assist, while Miriam Garcia Isabel collected seven digs in two sets. Freshman Ashlynn Whitt added five digs in two sets.
As a team, WVU Tech finished with 22 kills, 20 assists and 48 digs. The Golden Bears totaled one solo block and four block assists, good for three team blocks.

WVU Tech returns to action Friday, Sept. 18, at Salem University. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Salem, W.Va.
The Golden Bears then travel to Kentucky Christian University for a 1 p.m. match Saturday, Sept. 19, in Grayson, Ky.
