BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech Athletics has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Aug. 15-31, recognizing senior Ramon Ferrari of men's soccer and sophomore Aniston Treadway of volleyball for standout performances during the opening stretch of the 2026-27 season.

Ferrari anchored the Golden Bears through an unbeaten opening stretch, playing all 180 minutes in goal as WVU Tech earned draws against No. 4 Cumberlands and (RV) Milligan. The senior allowed just one goal while making 11 saves, posting a 0.50 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.
After helping Tech earn a 1-1 draw against nationally ranked Cumberlands in the season opener, Ferrari recorded six saves in a 0-0 road draw at Milligan. The clean sheet marked WVU Tech's first shutout of the season and capped a two-match stretch in which the Golden Bears surrendered just one goal.
Ferrari is a senior goalkeeper majoring in business management.
Treadway led the WVU Tech attack throughout the Golden Bears' opening six matches, appearing in all 20 sets while recording a team-high 39 kills and 41 points. The sophomore averaged 1.95 kills per set and added 15 digs and three total blocks.
Treadway finished the award period with 15 more kills than any other Golden Bear, providing consistent production through a six-match stretch that included four contests over two days at the On-Set Tournament. Her 39 kills accounted for more than a quarter of Tech's 149 kills during the period.
Treadway is a sophomore outside hitter majoring in nursing.
