Doug Pollock

Pollock enters his second year as assistant baseball coach for the Golden Bears. Pollock earned his degree from WVU Tech in December of 2021 in Athletic Coaching and a minor in Sports Management.

Pollock’s collegiate playing career started at Garrett College where he played for the Lakers from the Fall of 2016 to the Spring of 2018. After his first year with the Lakers, Pollock earned himself MVP of the Team and Co-Male Athlete of the year for Garrett College while playing shortstop and pitched in relief for the Lakers. After his second season at Garrett College, Pollock earned an opportunity to continue his academic and playing career at WVU Tech. Pollock’s first season with the Golden Bears in 2019 he earned himself a Golden Glove Award for being the best defensive second basemen in the conference. Along with earning a Gold Glove, Pollock also received Player of the Week honors against Ohio Christian as well as leading the team in batting average for the 2019 season. Pollock started in six different positions over the course of three years while playing for the Golden Bears. Pollock started at second base, third base, shortstop, left field, center field and right field. In the summer of 2022, Pollock coached for the Harrisonburg Turks in the Valley Baseball League in the Shenandoah Valley.

Pollock is from Monroeville, Pennsylvania just fifteen minutes right outside the city of Pittsburgh. Son of Doug Pollock Sr. (Father) and Carol Fonzi (Mother). Pollock attended Gateway High School and graduated in 2016.
