Scott Considine

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Scott Considine started his first season on the Golden Bears' coaching staff in 2020. He has coached at the college level as well as with the American Legion and High School.

He was born in Seoul, South Korea, but has lived in both Delaware and North Carolina for most of his life. He is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, where he studied and received his B.A. in psychology.

He is an Army Aviation Combat Veteran who served in Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom where he received accommodations as a AH-64D Apache Helicopter Crew Chief and was stationed with the most elite group of soldiers with the 82D Airborne Division. During his time in the military stationed in Korea, he played and coached Army Baseball while serving his country. He retried from the Army in 2012.

Some of his highlights as a High School Coach includes leading Mountain Heritage High School (NC) to a Conference Championship his first year. He played an important role in creating, organizing and coaching the inaugural season of American Legion Baseball team in his hometown of Burnsville, North Carolina. Scott led fundraising and sponsorship efforts and gained support of the community to introduce this baseball program to the area. He recruited talented baseball players from five local high schools to play for him during that first year. During that, he was able to put his players in front of college coaches, which resulted in several of his players being offered scholarships to play at the college level.

Considine continues to coach at the American Legion where he is the hitting coach for Asheville Post 70 (NC) where they had team combined batting average of .342, on base percentage of .454 and a slugging percentage of .451.

In 2019 he served the lead role of hitting coach and recruiting at Kentucky Christian University. In his first year, he was able to lead the team in raising their batting average, on base percentage and doubling on home runs and other categories.

Scott now resides in Raleigh County with his wife Jody Considine. They have a five year old son named Jordan. It is thanks to the support of his father and mother Bill and Chong Barry, as well his wife and son that he can pursue his passion, coaching baseball.
