Luka Pauk

Former West Virginia Wesleyan College men’s soccer standout Luka Pauk is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Golden Bears men's soccer program.

A Split, Croatia native, Pauk originally came to the US to play at Illinois Central College. After getting his Associate’s Degree in Sport Management and being recognized with an honorable mention for his goalkeeping performances, he then transferred to WVWC where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Sport Business in 2016.

Prior to coming to the States, Pauk was a product of a professional youth academy in Croatia and a part of the 2nd division team HNK Dugopolje.

Upon the conclusion of his playing career, Pauk moved to Pittsburgh where he became a head coach for Carnegie Melon University’s Club team and had the team’s best ever success by winning the conference and the group stage at the regional tournament. During his time in Pittsburgh he also worked as a goallkeeper coach in the youth academy for Pittsburgh Riverhounds which compete in the USL. A year later he joined the coaching staff at his alma mater as an assistant coach where he led the team to a record-breaking season by winning the Mountain East Conference for the first time in the history and qualifying for the NCAA National tournament. By winning the conference title against national champions University of Charleston, his team was the only team to beat them the whole year.

Other than college soccer, Luka was also involved with youth club soccer in Illinois, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. He was a camp director/director of goalkeeping at Vermont Voltage, head coach/director of goalkeeping at Mountain State Soccer Club, and a youth coach/goalkeeper coach for Morton Blaze Soccer Club.
