Freshman pitcher Mackenzie Wilson has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for April 2-9.
Wilson pitched a gem in game one when hosting the University of Rio Grande (Oh.) Tuesday, holding them to just five hits and three earned runs while striking out 11, a new career-high, and walking four in the tough loss. The freshman also struckout four batters in the second game of two against Rio.
The Owings Mills, Md. native tallied an RBI in the series against Davis & Elkins last week. Wilson recorded a double in game two which drove in Tech's only run of the game.
Wilson (1-5) put in 3.0 innings of work in game one vs. D&E, striking out one batter, giving up one earned run on three hits. Mac also pitched a full game for the loss at the end of the day, striking out seven batters while walking two. She gave up five earned runs on eight hits.
