Freshman Paulo Ignacio, Jr. has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for October 7-13, 2016.

Ignacio finished with a team-high 51 points and the Golden Bears took second at the West Virginia State Games October 7-8 in Huntington, West Virginia. The Santos, SP - Brazil native won the 100 yard Breaststroke (59.39) and touched third in the 200 yard Breaststroke (2:11.51).

The son of Paulo Ignacio and Amanda Alves is majoring in civil engineering at WVU Tech.
