Freshman Manuel Serrano Laguna has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer for Oct. 22-28.

Manuel helped the WVU Tech men's swimming team sneak past Fairmont State University in a meet that came down to the last relays. The freshman swam the breaststroke leg of the second place 200 Medley Relay, splitting a 27.81.

The Toledo, Spain native then went on to come in second in the 100 IM (58.43) and first in the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.48).

Laguna is the son of Antonio and Cristina Serrano Laguna and is majoring in engineering at Tech.
