Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for January 24-30, 2022 were announced Monday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Freshman Thomas Hailey (men's basketball) and sophomore Hayden Mathers aka INC. (esports) highlight this week's honors.

A native of Washington, West Virginia, Mathers helped lead the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate squad to a victory over Coastal Carolina University in the NACE Starleague tournament. Tech defeated Coast Carolina University 1-0 to kickoff the tourney.
