Junior Rubhi Garcia-Mercado has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer for January 14-20.

Garcia-Mercado touched first in the 100 Freestyle (1:01.71) and was a part of the 400 Freestyle Relay team that finished on top with a time of 4:02.58.

The junior also finished second as a part of the 200 Medley Relay (1:59.09) and third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:22.86).

The daughter of Magaly Mercado and Jose L. Garcia is a native of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and studies business management at WVU Tech.
