Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for January 22-28, 2024 were announced Friday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Sophomore Brant Smithers (men's basketball) and junior Jessica York (track & field) highlight the week's honors.

A native of Daniels, W.Va., York represented the Gold and Blue in the 5000m run during the Muskie Meet #3, crossing with a time of 22:51.28 for an eighth place finish.
