Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for September 2-8, 2024 were announced Monday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Sophomore Carson Barr (women's soccer) and senior Joan Hernandez (men's soccer) highlight the week's honors.

Barr, who hails from New Manchester, W.Va., produced three points at Milligan last week. The sophomore recorded a goal and an assist as the Golden Bears finished even, 2-2, with the Buffaloes.

Hernandez, a native of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, scored what would be Tech's equalizer with No. 1 Milligan University. The Golden Bears finished with a 3-3 tie at Milligan.
