Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 6–12, 2025, were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Earning the spotlight this week are freshman Neda Vaicaite (women’s swimming) and sophomore Sophie Quinlan (women’s soccer).

Vaicaite, from Šilainiai, Lithuania, delivered a standout collegiate debut at Midway, collecting two podium finishes and a personal best in the 50 free (26.66). She placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:05.43) and third in the 500 free (5:57.52), immediately establishing herself as a key contributor for the Golden Bears.
