Junior Kendra Monnin has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for January 27 - February 1, 2017.

Monnin, who was also named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, helped lead the Golden Bears to a 101-85 win over AAC foe Union College Saturday. The Knoxville, Tennessee native finished with two individual and one relay first place finishes to contribute 29 team points to the Gold and Blue.

With the relay team of sophomore Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli and seniors Francine Meyer and Janay Wright-Parks, Monnin touched first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.98. As an individual, the daughter of Mark and Lisa Monnin swam for first in the 400 IM (5:02.64) and 200 breaststroke (2:34.73).
