Nelson, who hails from Shrewsbury, West Virginia, earned a first place finish for the Golden Bears during the River States Conference (RSC) Championship held April 27 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Nelson completed the 5,000m Race Walk with a time of 40:56.10.
