TAKOMA PARK, Maryland - The WVU Tech men's soccer team earned their third consecutive win with a victory over Washington Adventist University Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears (8-1-1) shutout the Shock (5-4-1) in Takoma Park, Maryland, 3-0.
Tech picked up the victory due to goals by the freshmen trio of
Alex Pastor,
Pepe Segarra and
Miguel Casado. Pastor, named United States Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week Tuesday, also marked an assist. Sophomore
Prince Idornigie produced his second assist of the season when he found Pastor in the 44
th minute.
After 43 minutes of both teams shutting each other down at the net, Pastor scored to get Tech on the board off Idornigie's assist. Pastor then crossed to Segarra in front of the six less than a minute later to take the score to 2-0 before heading into halftime.
During minute 81, Casado sailed the ball from the elbow of the 18 for an unassisted goal, marking his third of the season and giving the Golden Bears a 3-0 score for the victory.

Hunter Moles was given the win after 80:30 minutes of play while freshman
Pol Bernaldo also saw time in the net to finish out the game.
The Golden Bears return to the field tomorrow, Wednesday to face the Shock again. Kickoff in Takoma Park, Maryland is set for 2:00 p.m.
