SALEM, West Virginia - WVU Tech men's basketball scored their fourth consecutive win and stayed perfect (2-0) at the Joe Manchin Classic hosted by Salem International University with a 87-62 victory over Bluefield State College Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bears are now 11-3 in 2014 while the Blues fall to 3-6.
Senior
Jauries Thomas continued to provide offense and defense for Tech, scoring a game-high 25 points on 11-for-19 shooting including two three-pointers Saturday. Thomas, who also had a pair of steals and blocks, pulled down a game-high 16 boards for the double-double.

Jaren Marino (19),
Sharife Sergeant (15) and
Leon Cooper, Jr. (13) also recorded double figures for the Golden Bears. Sergeant was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine while Marino grabbed six for the Golden Bears. Cooper led the game with seven assists to go with two rebounds and a steal.
Junior
Eddie Gordon dished five assists while marking six points and four rebounds.
Tech outshot Bluefield State from both the field overall (47 percent – 36.5 percent) and from three-point range (37.5 percent – 34.3 percent). The team also held advantages over the Blues in rebounds (44-23), steals (7-6), points in the paint (40-20), points off turnovers (22-9) and second chance points (26-16).
Dajon Reno paced Bluefield State with 25 points and eight rebounds.
The Golden Bears will wrap up 2014 by playing Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio 12:00 p.m. December 19.
