MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - WVU Tech wrestling and swimming are back in action this weekend, both looking for continued success on the road and men's basketball will play host to No. 25 (NAIA DI) University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) Saturday afternoon in the Baisi Athletic Center.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY - DECEMBER 5-6Wrestling at Messiah Petrofes Invitational The Golden Bears are 8-3 this season after a 2-1 showing at the McDaniel Green Terror Duals November 22. Tech defeated Penn State Mont Alto (37-12) and University of Maryland Baltimore County (51-3) while falling to Gettysburg College (20-18).
The Invitational is hosted by Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania December 5-6.
Swimming at 2014 Union College Winter Invitational WVU Tech is having a successful year so far. Freshman
Jesus Ballesteros swam a 22.3 in his 50 freestyle and a 49.0 in his 100 freestyle. Freshman Geoffrey Gaureau went 53.3 in his 100 butterfly. Sophomore
Matheus Montarroyos swam both the 200 and 500 freestyle, finishing at 1:47.4 and 4:56.7.
On the women's side, sophomore
Francine Meyer swam her 50 freestyle in 25.4 and her 100 butterfly in 1:01.3. Freshman
Kendra Monnin showed her overall ability by achieving results in the 200 individual medley, 2:16.5, 1000 freestyle, 11:26.05, 100 breaststroke, 1:11.7, 200 freestyle, 1:59.4.
SATURDAY - DECEMBER 6Â Men's Basketball vs. University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) - 4:00 p.m. Tech will host No. 25 (NAIA DI) University of the Cumberlands Saturday afternoon in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears hold a record of 8-3 after scoring a 90-70 win over Point Park University Tuesday evening.
