RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The WVU Tech volleyball team lost in three sets at the University of Rio Grande Wednesday night, 25-11, 25-17 and 25-8. The loss drops the Golden Bears' record to 2-12 while the Red Storm improve to 7-10.
Senior
Haley Pauley paced Tech with 11 digs and six kills. Sophomore
Hannah Atkins chipped in two kills while junior
Jacque Carroll added five digs with her two kills, ace and block in the defeat.
Redshirt freshman
Michala Dean led Tech with six assists and Carroll had five. Junior
Chelsea Dean had a team-high 12 digs.
Alex Phillips led Rio to the win with a match-best 11 kills.
WVU Tech will continue their road stretch this Saturday with a tri-match in Pikeville, Kentucky. The Golden Bears will face the host UPIKE at 12:00 p.m. followed by a match-up with the Cincinnati Christian University.
